3 - 4 fresh bartlett pears
½ c butter
1 2/3 c sugar
¼ tsp cloves
½ c chopped walnuts
2 eggs
2 c flour
2 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
¾ tsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Peel and mash pears to make 2 cups. Cream butter, sugar and eggs, and beat 2 minutes. Sift together dry ingredients and add to creamed, along with pears, nuts and vanilla. Mix lightly but thoroughly. Pour into a grease and floured 9"x13" pan. Bake at 350º for 30-35 minutes. Spread with a vanilla, buttercream frosting. Butter, powdered sugar, vanilla and a little milk are needed to make the frosting. Don't have to frost this.
