4 c. strawberries (2qts) mashed
6 c. sugar
2 T.. sur-gel

Very important: Use heavy gauge tall pot!

Clean and mash strawberries.
Add 3 C. sugar, sur-gel bring to boil and cook 5 minutes. Add 3 C. sugar and bring to boil and cool 5 minutes. It will make a froth on the top of jam. Take off burner and continue to stir till cool. Takes approximately 1/2 hour to cool.
Let cool overnight then put in jars and freeze

This is a Deetz favorite. Lacey & Jen are always asking for more of Grandma's jam! Jens neighbors Stacie asked if she could buy this jam from her because her kids refuse to eat any-other strawberry jam!
