Cherry Salad Recipe

1 can cherry pie filling
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup water
6 oz pkg cherry jello
1 small can crushed pineapple
6 oz 7-Up or Coke
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)


8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/4 - 1/3 cup milk
1 T sugar

Combine pie filling, sugar and water. Bring to a boil and simmer 3-4 minutes. Add jello and stir until dissolved. Chill until jelled. Add crushed pineapple and juice, the 7-Up or Coke and nuts (if desired). Mix well.
Mix the topping ingredients together and spread on jello. Swirl it with a knife. Chill and allow to set.
