Ingredients:

4 1/2 to 5 lbs. eye of beef,
5 cups water,
2 cups vinegar,
3 onions(cut into small pieces),
3 carrots(cut into small pieces),
1 tbsp. salt,
1 1/2 tbsp pickling spices,
1 1/2 cup sugar,
celery,
1 large can tomatoes.

Add meat to above mixture and let soak overnight. Cook all together until meat is done. Remove meat, strain juice and discard the rest. Bring juice to a boil, thicken with flour as for gravy. Add Kitchen Bouquet to darken. Slice meat when cool and return to gravy. Serve with buttered noodles.
