25 - 30 medium-sized cucumbers
3 large white onions
2 large red peppers
˝ c salt (not iodized)
5 c cider vinegar (Heinz)
5 c sugar
2 Tbsp mustard seeds
1 tsp turmeric
˝ tsp ground cloves

Directions:
Directions:
Wash cucumbers and thinly slice. Chop peppers and slice onions. Combine all vegetables in a large bowl and sprinkle salt over them. Stir occasionally and let stand 3 hours. Drain. In large pot, combine vinegar, sugar and spices and heat to boiling. Add drained vegetables and heat to boiling. Pour in pint jars, cover with lids, and process according to manufacturer’s directions.

These are absolutely the best, but the Farman pickles at James' and Natalie's wedding were pretty good too, and brought back memories.....
