1 c butter, softened
½ c sugar
½ c brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
2½ c flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cream of tartar
½ tsp salt
½ c chopped nuts
Sugar for dipping

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugars together. Add egg and vanilla and beat until fluffy. Sift dry ingredients together into bowl. Mix well. Stir in nuts. Chill dough until easy to handle, then roll into walnut size balls. Dip the top of each cookie in sugar before placing on a greased cookie sheet. Spray cookies with water before baking at 350° for 15 minutes.
