German Cream Cheese Brownies Recipe

4 oz German chocolate
5 Tbsp butter
3 oz cream cheese
1 c sugar
3 eggs
c + 1 Tbsp flour
1 tsp vanilla
tsp baking powder
tsp salt
c chopped nuts
c almond extract

Melt chocolate and 3 Tbsp butter over low heat, stirring constantly. Cool. Cream remaining butter with the cream cheese until softened. Gradually add c sugar, creaming until light and fluffy. Stir in 1 egg, 1 Tbsp flour and tsp vanilla until blended. Beat remaining eggs until fluffy and light. Gradually add remaining sugar, beating until thickened. Fold in baking powder, salt and remaining flour. Blend in cooled chocolate mixture. Stir in nuts, almond extract and vanilla. Set aside 1 c batter. Spread remaining batter in a greased 9 square pan. Pour cheese mixture over top. Dollop remaining batter over cheese mixture and marble. Bake at 350 for 35 - 40 minutes.
