½ c sugar
½ c milk
2 oz chocolate
2 ¼ c flour
1 c sugar
½ tsp salt
½ c shortening
2/3 c milk
1/3 c milk
2 eggs
1 tsp baking soda
3 Tbsp boiling water
1 tsp vanilla

Boil sugar, milk and chocolate in small saucepan for 5 minutes and cool. Measure flour, sugar, salt, shortening and milk into medium bowl and beat 2 minutes, then add milk, eggs, soda, water and vanilla. Finally, add cooled chocolate mixture and beat 2 more minutes. Pour batter in greased and floured 9"x13” pan and bake at 350° for 30 - 35 minutes.
