Cinnamon Rolls Recipe

2 pkgs dry yeast
¼ tsp ginger
1 tsp sugar
2½ c warm water

Combine in small bowl to dissolve and activate yeast.


In large bowl, mix:

1 pkg yellow cake mix
2 eggs
¼ c butter

Add active yeast mixture, stirring until smooth.


Knead in:

6 c flour (or enough to make a soft dough)

Raise dough twice and divide in half. Roll out each portion into a ½” thick rectangle. Spread rectangles with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar*. Press in chopped nuts and raisins as desired. Roll dough tightly, along long edge, and seal seam. Slice dough into 1½” thick rolls and place them on greased pans. Raise until doubled. Bake at 350° for 15 minutes, or until golden brown. Glaze with Caramel Sweet Roll Frosting.

*Cinnamon sugar is also good with a little added nutmeg and/or ginger.

The cake mix and ginger make these a little different. When Mom was Stake Relief Society President, she was always looking for different breakfast recipes to serve at her monthly meetings. She loved this one.
