½ c shortening
1 c banana mash
1 c sugar
1½ Tbsp sour milk*
1 tsp lemon juice
2 eggs
½ tsp baking soda
2 c flour
1½ tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Pour batter in a greased and floured loaf pan and bake at 350° for 1 hour, or until bread passes knife test (knife comes out clean when inserted in center of bread).

*Sour milk can be made by adding ¼ - ½ tsp vinegar or lemon juice to 1 Tbsp milk.
