1/2 cup shortening,
1 egg,
1 cup molasses,
2 1/4 cups flour,
1 cup applesauce,
1 cup raisins,
1/2 tsp. cloves,
1 tsp.salt,
1 tsp. cinnamon,
1 tsp. baking soda,
a few nuts.

Directions:

Mix shortening, egg and molasses. Add flour. Add other ingredients. Bake at 350 for 45 min.
