1 c. lt.brown sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. dark molasses
2 eggs
2 1/2 c. flour (sifted 1x)
1 c. nuts
1 sm. bottle maraschino cherries (drained, cut into pieces)
1 c. dates (cut into pieces)
1-2 candied pineapple rings (red & green good)
1 tsp. baking soda (dissolved in 1/4 c. boiling water)

Cream butter and sugar, add other ingredients in order named, adding a little flour, then fruit and nuts then rest of flour. Stir in soda water. Stir well and drop by generous rounded teaspoons on a greased cookie sheet.

Bake 10-12 min. in 350 F oven.

Candied pineapple comes in different colors and you can use almost any candied fruit. Cut fruit and dates with scissors dipped in water to keep from sticking.

Do not overbake these, they should be moist. Store in covered container.
