2 C sifted flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tbsp sugar
4 tsp baking powder
1 cup milk
1 egg
2 tbsp melted shortening.

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour,salt, sugar and baking powder. Combine remaining ingredients, (1 cup milk, 1 egg 2 tbsp melted shortening) and add to dry ingredients. Stir just enough to dampen the flour. Pour into greased pans filling pans 2/3 full. Bake in hot over. (425 F. 20 to 25 minutes.

Pineapple Muffins:Add 1/2 C flour, 3 tbsp sugar, 2 tbsp shortening and 1 No 1 can crushed pineapple Mix and bake as above.
