1 - 10" - 12" skillet cornbread
4 - slices day old whole wheat bread
1 1/2 cup chopped onion (very fine)
1 cup chopped celery (very fine)
3/4 cup melted butter
4 eggs beaten
2 - 10 oz. cans chicken broth
1 teaspoon thyme
1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
1 1/2 teaspoon sage
salt and pepper
1 pt.oysters drained and chopped (optional)

Crumble breads and mix with alll ingredients. Pour into a greased 3 quart pyrex casserole. Bake at 350º for 1 hour. May be prepared the night before but keep well refrigerated. If I make ahead I put either a little of the turkey fat drippings or some extra butter on top before putting in oven.
