1-2/3 c. flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1-1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. cooking oil
5 egg yokes
3/4 c. lukewarm water
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp maple flavoring
3/4 c. finely chopped walnuts (reserve 1/4 c.)
1 cup egg whites
1-1/2 tsp cream of tartar

Directions:
Directions:
Measure and sift first 4 ingredients into a bowl. Add oil, yolks, water and flavorings to above. Beat with spoon til smooth, add 1/2 c.nuts. Beat egg whites and cream of tartar till stiff. Fold into mixture, put into a tube pan and bake 1-1/2 hrs in 325º oven.
Ice with 7 minute frosting with maple flavoring added. sprinkle with small amount of finely chopped walnuts.
