"A man who was fond of wine was offered some grapes at dessert after dinner. "Much obliged," said he, pushing the plate aside; "I am not accustomed to take my wine in pills."--Jean Antheleme Brillat-Savarin, The Physiology of Taste
This recipe for Grandma Haun's Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream, by Nancy Lee, is from The Haun Family Cookbook,
one of the cookbooks created at FamilyCookbookProject.com. We help
families or individuals create heirloom cookbook treasures.
Mix eggs and sugar together with electric beater until it is really well beaten. Add vanilla and beat again. Add whipping cream one cup at a time, beating between each addition. Pour in ice cream freezer and fill with milk. Fill to about 1 1/2" from top of freezer as ice cream will expand when frozen.
