2 1/2 cups flour 2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 cup shortening (margarine or buttered flavored crisco)
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg beaten
1 1/2 cup sour cream (you can use fat free)
1/2 cup currants
1 cup raisins(you can use craisins)
2 tbsp. carraway seeds.

Directions:
Sift flour and all dry ingreidents together except carraway seeds. Cream together shortening and sugar, add beaten eggs and sour cream. Add to flour mixture. Fold in raisins and carraway seeds. Stir until just blended. Pour into round baking pan greased.You can use round mixing bowl. Smooth all over dipping spatula into milk or beaten eggs whites. Bake at 375º oven for 1 hr. or until tooth pick comes out clean. ©Citrus County Chronicle
