1 (16 oz) can or jar light or dark sweet cherries
1 slice ham 1 1/2 inches thick
1 tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp brown sugar
2 tsp cornstarch
1/8 tsp ginger
1/8 tsp nutmeg
1/2 c raisins

Directions:
Directions:
Drain and pit cherries, reserving syrup. Place ham slice in shallow baking pan. Bake at 325º 50 to 60 minutes, until hot and tender. Meanwhile, combine cherry syrup with lemon juice, brown sugar, cornstarch and spices. Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened and clear. Add cherries and raisins. Simmer slowly 5 minutes longer, until fruit is heated through. Baste ham slice with part of sauce and bake 10 minutes longer. Remove to platter and spoon portion of sauce over ham before serving. Pass remaining sauce.
