1 - 16oz can whole berry cranberry sauce
1 c chopped dates
1 1/2 c flour
1 1/2 c oatmeal
1 c brown sugar
3/4 t cinnamon
3/4 c softened butter
1/2 chopped nuts of choice (pecans, walnuts etc)


Directions:

1. Heat oven to 350º, grease sheet cake pan.
2. In medium saucepan, combine cranberry sauce and dates. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 7 minutes, stirring frequently. Cool slightly.
3. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off. In medium bowl, combine flour, oats, brown sugar and cinnamon; mix well.
4. Using fork or pastry blender, cut butter into flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in nuts.
5. Press half of mixture into greased pan and press down evenly. Spread date mixture over top. Sprinkle with remaining oat mixture and pat down lightly.
6. Bake 350º for 30 to 45 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely. Cut into bars.
