1 tsp vanilla
1½ cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 (6oz) package semisweet chocolate chops (1 cup)
1/4 cup butter or margerine*
9 cups Chex cereal (any variety)

Directions:
Measure cereal into large bowl; set aside. Microwave chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter in 1 quart microwavable bowl, uncovered on High 1 minute; stir. Microwave 30 seconds longer or until mixture can be stirred smooth. Stir in vanilla. Pour chocolate mixture over cereal in bowl, stirring until evenly coated. Pour into large plastic food storage bag; add powdered sugar. Seal bag; shake until well coated. Spread on waxed paper to cool. Stor in airtight container in refrigerator.

*Do not use spread or tub products

Because microwaves cook differently, time is approximate.

Range top directions: Measure cereal into large bowl; set aside. Heat chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter in 1 quart saucepan over low heat, stirring frequently, until melted. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla. Continue as directed above.

I've made this recipe at get togethers. They are so so good. The kids love them as well as us adults. You really can't eat just one. I got this recipe idea from Katherine Trevey. She wanted them for her high school graduation party.
