3-4 large egg whites
1/4 tsp of cream of tarter or lemon juice
1 Tsp of cornstarch
1 cup of water
3 Tsp of sugar

Directions:
Directions:
In a small sauce pan combined sugar, cornstarch and water. Bring to boil and cook until thick. In a large glass bowl add egg whites and cream of tarter, and beat until soft peaks. Add the cornstarch mixture as you continue to beat 1 spoonful at a time until you have added it all. Continue to beat until meringue is light and fluffy and will hold firm peaks. Spoon onto pie and make sure that the edges of the meringue touches the pie crust and bake in oven until it is golden brown. ( about 15 minutes)
