1 (32 oz.) pkg. hash browns, thaw slightly
1 tsp. salt
c. onion, chopped (optional)
2 c. corn flakes, crushed
1 can cream of chicken soup
c. butter, melted
2 c. sharp cheese, grated
1 c. sour cream (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Place potatoes in heavily greased large casserole. Combine onions, soup, cheese, and salt and pepper; pour over potatoes and mix. Mix crushed corn flakes with melted butter and sprinkle over potatoes. Bake, uncovered, at 350 for 45 minutes.
