1 c butter
1 c granulated sugar
1 c brown sugar
3 eggs
4 c flour
1 tsp. soda
1 sp. cinnamon
salt

Mix in order given. Roll out to 1/2 inch thickness and spread with filling. Store in cold place until chilled. Slice off and bake.

1 lb. dates - seeded and cut
1/2 c sugar
1/2 c water
Boil until thick paste, then add 1 c chopped nut meats. Set aside to cool before spreading on cookie dough before making it into rolls.

The title is copied from Grandma's own handwriting. I believe that Grandpa made the comment that these cookies were the best filled cookies he ever ate. I agree with him - they are scrumptious. There are other versions of this recipe in this book because it was and still is a family favorite and is still prepared every holiday season.
