3 c Quaker Oats
1 1/2 c flour
1 c firmly packed brown sugar
1 c melted butter
3/4 tsp salt (optional)
1/2 tsp soda
favorite fruit preserves

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 400. Grease 13x9 inch pan. In large bowl combine all ingredients except preserves; mix well. Reserve 1 c mixture; press remaining onto bottom of prepared pan. Spread preserves evenly over base to within 1/2 inch of edge of pan; sprinkle with reserved mixture. Bake 23 to 30 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely; cut into bars.
