1/2 cup vegetable oil (such as Canola oil)
1 lb. dark brown sugar
3 eggs
1 c. whole wheat flour
1 1/3 c. all-purpose flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 T. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt

Preheat oven to 350.
Place vegetable oil and dark brown sugar in a mixing bowl and mix well with beaters. Add the eggs one at a time.
In a separate bowl, mix together the whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
Add flour mixture to sugar mixture and mix well.
Stir in the semi-sweet chocolate pieces and walnuts by hand.
Grease a jelly roll pan or a 13x9x2 inch baking pan with oil or shortening. Spread the batter. Bake for about 18-23 minutes for the jelly roll pan and about 30 minutes for the baking pan. Cool. Cut into diamonds or squares. These freeze really well.
