1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 eggs (separated)
1 cup flour
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/2 cup maraschino cherries
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup roasted slivered almonds

Directions:
Directions:
Blend butter, powdered sugar and egg yolks. Mix in flour. Press and flatten mixture in 13" x 9" x 2" pan and bake 15 minutes at 350º.
Mix milk, vanilla, lemon juice, cherries (cut up and drained) and sugar. Spread on baked crust while crust is still warm.
Mix the egg whites as a meringue. Spread on top of milk mixture. Put almonds on top of egg whites and bake at 425º until brown. Cut in small squares while warm.
