1 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. orange rind
2 large eggs
1 T. orange juice
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Mix shortening, sugar, orange rind, eggs, juice, and vanilla together well. Add in small amounts at a time the flour, baking powder, and salt. Chill dough then spoon balls of dough onto cookie sheet. Press each ball down with dish towel covered glass. Bake at 375 for 8 minutes. Cool. Frost with powdered sugar frosting that has almond extract added. Be careful not to overbake. More flour may be needed.
