"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain
This recipe for Karo Six Minute Pecan Pie, by Marguerite Dumont, is from Our Family Cookbook,
one of the cookbooks created at FamilyCookbookProject.com. We help
families or individuals create heirloom cookbook treasures.
3 eggs 1 c. Karo (light or dark) syrup (I use dark) 1 c. sugar 2 tbsp. margarine or butter (melted) 1 tsp. vanilla 1 1/2 c. pecans (not chopped - halved) 1 unbaked 9" pastry shell
In large bowl stir together first 5 ingredients until well blended. Stir in nuts. Pour into pastry shell. Bake at 350º for 50 to 55 minutes or until knife inserted halfway between center and edge comes out clean. Cool & serve.
