1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
2 squares baker's unsweetened chocolate, melted
1/2 cup nuts
1/2 cup seeded raisins, chopped
1/4 cup candied cherries
1/4 cup candied pineapple
4 tbsp butter

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour once and measure; add baking powder and salt; sift three times. Add sugar to eggs and beat until light. Mix in chocolate, nuts and prepared fruit, and finally, shortening. Stir in flour, mixing thoroughly. Drop by teaspoons onto greased tin. Bake 8 minutes in moderate oven (350F). Makes 3 1/2 dozen.
