2/3 lb. graham crackers (2 packs)
2 large pkg. chocolate instant pudding
Cool Whip topping

Directions:
Directions:
Follow instructions on pudding box. Line 13 x 9" pan with graham crackers. Pour 1/2 of pudding mix over layer of crackers. Layer grahams again, pour remainder of pudding on that layer of grahams. Add one more layer of grahams. Top with Cool Whip or Dream Whip. Refrigerate for 3-4 hours. Serve.

Can garnish with chocolate shaves, mini chocolate chips, nuts or any thing that sound good.

This reciped also came from the 1973 St. Ann's Cookbook. I believe it called for the pudding that needs to be cooked, but I changed it to instant. You can use either, just let pudding cool before adding Cool Whip. I also think this is the type of dessert, that over a few hours, the moisture from the pudding turns the grahams to cake-like. This wasn't mentioned in the recipe, but again, we'll have to ask Mom after her birthday. My friend Lynne, makes one similar but uses oreo cookies, so really any flavor graham cracker type cookie with do. And I know she refrigerates hers for a while before serving. Hope this makes sense. Well of course it does!!!
