3/4 c. sugar
1/3 c. margarine
3/4 c. mashed ripe banana
1/4 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. cloves
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 c. chopped walnuts

Frosting:
2 c. powdered sugar
1 (3 oz.) cream cheese, softened
2 T. margarine
1 T. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
In large bowl, beat sugar and margarine until light and fluffy. Add banana, buttermilk, vanilla and egg, mix well. Add remaining cake ingredients except nuts, mix well. Stir in nuts. Spread batter in greased and floured 8 or 9 inch square pan. Bake at 350º for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely. In medium bowl, combine all frosting ingredients and beat until smooth and creamy. Spread on cooled cake. Store in refrigerator.
