4 T butter
1 T water
1 large onion chopped
1 1/2 lbs ground meat
2 cloves garlic
1 T chives
1 T chopped parsley
1/4 tsp thyme
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
2 T flour
1 can beef broth

Directions:
Directions:
In heavy skillet put 2 T butter, water and all but 2 T of finely chopped onion. over low heat. Cover and cook 10 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent browning.

In large bowl combine beef, garlic chives, parsley, thyme, salt, pepper and reserved 2 T minced onion. Shape mixture into 6 patties about 1 inch thick.

With slotted spoon, remove onions and save. Heat remaining 2 T butter over moderate heat until bubbly. Add the pjatties and cook about 4 minutes on each side for medium. Remove patties and set aside. Return onions to skillet and add flour cooking for 1 minute. Add the beef broth and boil for 4 minutes stirring until sauce is thickened. Place patties into sauce and simmer for approximately 10 minutes. Serve over mashed potatoes.
