2 cups sugar
2-1/4 cups brown sugar, packed
1-1/2 cups butter
6 eggs
5-1/2 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 pint 100-proof bourbon whiskey
1 pound black walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugars until free of lumps. Cream butter in a large bowl. Add half of the sugar mixture, and cream thoroughly. In a separate bowl, beat eggs until fluffy, and add remaining sugar. Stir into butter mixture.
Sift together flour, salt and nutmeg. Add to batter, alternately with whiskey, beginning and ending with flour. Gently fold in walnuts. Pour into a well-greased and floured 10 inch tube pan or 4 small loaf pans. Bake at 300º 1-1/2 to 2 hours for tube pan or 1-1/4 hours for loaf pans. Remove from oven, and cool 15 mnutes. Turn out onto cake rack. When cool, wrap in foil and store in refrigerator. Do not freeze.
