1 c margarine
3 squares chocolate
1-1/2 c sugar
1 tsp vanilla
4 eggs
2 c flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 c flour
1/2 c chopped nuts (optional)

Frosting:

5 tablespoons margarine
1 square chocolate
1/2 c sugar
1/4 c milk
2 cups powdered sugar (sifted is best)


Directions:

Melt margarine and chocolate in saucepan. Mix sugar and vanilla and add to chocolate mixture. Add eggs and mix thoroughly. Add flour, salt, and nuts, and stir well. Drop by 1 tablespoonful onto medium hot waffle iron. Takes 2 to 3 minutes to cook. Check them for doneness with a fork in the side of 1 of the cookies. Don't break. Feels soft when removed from waffle iron. They get crispy when they cool. Don't overcook. Combine margarine, chocolate, sugar, and milk; bring to a boil and cook until sugar dissolves. Add 2 cups powdered sugar and mix until spreading consistency. Sets up fast.
