1 can (10 3/4 oz french onion soup
1 1/2 lb ground beef
1/2 c Itialian bread crumbs
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/4 tsp salt
dash pepper
1/4 c ketchup
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp mustard
1/4 c water
1 tbsp flour

Mix thoroughly 1/3 c soup, beef, bread crumbs, eggs, salt and pepper. Shape into 6 oval patties. In slillet, brown patties (use shortening if necessary); pour off fat. Add remainig soup, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce and mustard. Gradually blend water into flour until smooth. Stir into soup mixture. Cover; cook over low heat 20 minutes. Stir occasionally.

Ok, that is the recipe, now here are the changes that I have made in the prepration.
While the patties are cooking, I mix the remaning ingredients in a bowl, except for the flour and water. I usually use a wire whisk to blend it together. The I put the flour and water in a shaker and blend it that way. I find that they mix better when shaken. Then I add the mixture to the rest of the sauce and give it one final blend with the whisk.Then I pour over patties and cover and leave it alone until the 20 minutes is up. My favorite side dish to serve with this is my Cheesy Scalloped Potatoes.
