"A man who was fond of wine was offered some grapes at dessert after dinner. "Much obliged," said he, pushing the plate aside; "I am not accustomed to take my wine in pills."--Jean Antheleme Brillat-Savarin, The Physiology of Taste

1- 6 ounce or 2 - 3 ounce packages orange or apricot Jell-O
1 package plain unflavored gelatin, as directed.
2 cups miniature marshmallows
1 large can crushed pineapple (drain and save juice)
2 large bananas, medium ripe and sliced.

Topping (optional)
cup pineapple juice (from above)
cup sugar
1 egg, beaten
2 tablespoon flour

1 package Dream Whip (prepared)

Angle Flake coconut
Maraschino cherries for garnish

Mix as directed with water, using 1 less cup of water than called for in directions. Soften 1 package plain unflavored gelatin as directed. Add plain gelatin to flavored Jell-O mixture (plain gelatin aids in congealing). Pour into large casserole dish.
Let congeal slightly, until syrupy. Add 2 cup miniature marshmallows, 1 large can crushed pineapple (drain and save juice), and 2 large bananas, medium ripe and sliced. Stir well.
Let congeal.

Mix topping ingredients. Cook over low heat until mixture thickens.Cool thoroughly. Prepare Dream Whip according to package directions. Fold Dream Whip with cooked, cooled topping. Spread over congealed Jell-O. Sprinkle with coconut (Angel Flake). Top with cherries. Chill 4 hours. Cut in squares to serve.
