"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain
This recipe for Polka-Dot Macaroons, by Ellen Baker, is from The Baker Family Cookbook Project,
one of the cookbooks created at FamilyCookbookProject.com. We help
families or individuals create heirloom cookbook treasures.
2 egg whites 1/4 t salt 1/2 t vanilla 3/4 c sugar 1 6 oz pkg chocolate chips 3 c. corn flakes
Preheat oven to 350º. Beat egg whites, 1/4 t vanilla, and 1/4 t salt until stiff. Gradually beat in 3/4 c sugar. Fold in chocolate chips and corn flakes. Drop by teaspoonfuls on well greased cookie sheet. Bake for 18 - 20 mins.
This a personal favorite of our granchildren. May use rice crispies in place of corn flakes.
