1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup lukewarm water
3/4 cup sugar
2 pkg. yeast
1/3 cup shortening
3 eggs - beaten
1 tsp salt
1 tsp grated lemon rind
4 1/2 - 5 cups flour
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Scald milk. Add sugar, salt and shortening. Set aside to cool. Add yeast to lukewarm water. Leave stand until granules come to the top, then stir and add to the lukewarm milk mixture. Add the beaten eggs, lemon rind and juice and nutmeg. Add enough flour , (41/2 - 5 cups) to make a soft dough. Knead thoroughly and put into a greased bowl. Grease the top of the dough. Let rise till about double in size. (About 2 hours) Make into rolls, let rise till about double in size. Bake in a 350ºF oven for 25 - 30 minutes.
