1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. butter
2 T. clear corn syrup
2 - 3 Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced
Sliced French bread (Earth Grain or similar) to fill in 9 x 13 pan (approx. 1 loaf)
5 Eggs
1 1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Sauce:
1 c. chunky applesauce
10 oz. apple jelly
1/8 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Cook brown sugar, butter, corn syrup until bubbly. Pour into 9 x 13 pan. Arrange sliced apples over above mixture. Arrange bread slices over apples cutting to fit. Whisk together eggs, milk and vanilla and pour over bread slices. Cover with foil and put in refrigerator overnight. Bake at 350º uncovered for 40 minutes or until done. Meanwhile over medium heat cook applesauce, jelly and spices until jelly is melted. Serve sauce over French toast portions.
