Directions:
1) Use well-cooked organic pieces of fat back from other items, such as seasoning for greens. 2) Chill in fridge. 3) Cut into pieces that are too big for a child to swallow. 4) Make sure that the pieces are too tough for the child to bite off some of it and swallow. 5) Give a piece to a teething baby to gnaw on. May need to let it to come to room temperature. 6) Wipe any grease off baby if it runs down its chin. 7) Adult enjoy; and teething baby no (or much less) crying.

Personal Notes:
This is basically for babies who don't have any or many erupted teeth yet because it's important that they cannot chew off any of the fat back and swallow it. The baby may swallow a bit of grease, but basically the grease and most of the salt will have been cooked out of the fat back from its having been used to prepare other dishes. Recommended versus plastic teething items (who wants to let a child gnaw on plastic?). Remember - organic only. This was told to me by my elderly father. Organic because in those days pork was basically just cured with salt with none of the modern chemicals, and pigs were not fed all the drugs and chemicals as they are today.
