Crust:
1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. soda
1 c. quick cooking oats
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. butter, melted

Cake:
1 oz. unsweetened chocolate, melted
1/4 c. butter
1 egg
1/4 c. milk
2/3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. baking powder
3/4 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
With first set of ingredients, sift together flour, soda and salt. Combine with oats and brown sugar. Stir in melted butter. Pat mixture into 11x7 pan. Bake at 350º for 10 minutes.

Second set of ingredients: Combine chocolate, butter and sugar. Add egg and beat well. Sift together four, baking powder and salt; add alternately with milk and vanilla to chocolate mixture. Spread batter over baked layer. Bake at 350º for 25 minutes or longer. Cool and frost with your favorite chocolate frosting.
