8 ounces (250 g) dark chocolate

1 cup (225 g) butter at room temperature

1 1/2 c sugar

5 eggs



Ganache:

12 ounces (400 g) dark chocolate

1 cup (1/4 l) cream


Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 F/160C. Melt chocolate and stir until smooth. Remove from heat and cool 1-2 minutes. Add butter to chocolate bit by bit and beat with wire whisk until smooth. Add sugar to chocolate mixture and beat for one minute. Beat eggs until foamy and then add to chocolate mixture. Butter a wide circular pan with high sides (spring pan recommended) and line with parchment. Pour in batter and set in slightly larger pan. Put both pans in the oven and fill outer pan 3/4 with hot water. Bake for 1 1/2 hours. Cool one hour. Cake will fall. Refrigerate until set (at least 2 hours). Carefully invert onto plate and spread with Ganache. Ganache: boil chocolate and cream together, stirring constantly. Refrigerate until spreadable and spread over cake. Decorate top with white chocolate curls.
