1 stick butter or margarine 1 c sugar 2 eggs 1 tsp baking soda 1 c or 3 ripe bananas 1 tsp salt 1 tsp vanilla 2 c flour 1/2 c chopped nuts optional
Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and beat well. Stir in mashed bananas. Add dry ingredients, mix well. Add vanilla and nuts. Pour mixture into a greased and floured loaf pan. Bake at 300º for about 70 minutes.
