Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 packs (3 oz. each) Lady's fingers (sponge cake variety), split
3 bananas, cut into 1/4" rounds
2 small (3.4 oz.) packages vanilla instant pudding
1 (20 oz.) can pineapple chunks or tidbits, drained
1 (12oz.) container Cool Whip
Chopped nuts
Maraschino cherries, cut in half
Toasted coconut

Directions:
Directions:
Prepare pudding as package directs, and chill until thickened. Split ladyfingers long ways, and line the bottom and around sides of a 13x10x3” oval serving bowl (or bowl close to that size). Layer the bananas over the lady fingers, then layer the pineapple over the bananas. Pour pudding over pineapple layer and smooth out to the edges, leaving tops of lady fingers exposed. Sprinkle top with chopped nuts and toasted coconut, if desired. Place cherries in a pretty pattern, if desired. Serves 10-12.

Personal Notes:
I think everyone remembers this recipe. I remember sneaking to the downstairs refrigerator (in Dad's Bar) in the morning, with a spoon, and eat a few bites of the leftover dessert, right from the bowl. It's so refreshing and a great summer time dessert (really it's a good anytime dessert).
