7 lbs. cucumbers
Cover with boiling water. Let stand 24 hours. Drain and cover with boiling water again. Do this each day for 4 days (fresh water) each time. On the 5th day, slice pickles in 1/4 inch rings and cover with the following:
1 qt. vinegar
8 c. white sugar
2 T. salt
1 T. pickling spice

Pour over pickles and let stand for 24 hours. Drain, heat and pour over pickles again. On the 7th day, bring syrup to a boil. Add pickles and heat to boiling point. Put in hot jars and seal.
