1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
4 T. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
3 1/2 c. flour

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together shortening, sugars, eggs, milk, and vanilla. Gradually add rest of dry ingredients. Chill Dough. Roll onto well-floured surface. Cut with cookie cutters. Bake at 375º degrees for 10 minutes. Frost when cooled.

Blaser's Soft Sugar Cookie Frosting:

3/4 cup shortening
1/2 tsp. almond extract
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1/3 cup non-fat dry milk
5 cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup water

Mix at medium speed for 3 minutes and at high speed for 5 minutes. Add food coloring if desired.
