* 1 cup scalded milk
* 1 cup sugar
* 2 tsp. salt
* 1 cup melted butter
* 1 cup warm water
* 4 pkg. dry active yeast
* 4 eggs,beaten
* 9 cups flour
* Large jar marachino cherries
* Whole pecans

*Stir the sugar,salt & butter into the milk & cool to luke warm
*In a warm bowl combine the warm water & the yeast/stir & dissolve
*Stir in the warm milk mixture
*Add the beaten eggs
*Add 3 cups of flour, then 3 cups,then 3 cups
*Knead dough 'til smooth
*Grease a large bowl & put the dough ball in it,cover, put in a warm place & raise 'til it's double
*Knead down,cover & let it rest 15 minutes
*Pat out the dough,cutting it into long strips
*Braid onto a greased cookie sheet
*Cover,put it in that warm place again & let it double.
*Heat oven to 350
*Bake 35 to 40 minutes
*Make a glaze type icing with confectioners sugar & some cherry juice.
*Garnish with cherry halves & pecans.
