1/2 cup cocoa
1/2 cup water
2 tsp. baking soda.
Mix and let stand until rest is mixed.

1-3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup shortening
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 cup sour milk
2-1/2 cup flour
2 eggs

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, sugar and vanilla. Add eggs and beat well. Sift dry ingredients together. Add alternately with sour milk. Stir in cocoa mix.

Bake 350º till tester comes out clean.

This recipe was passed on to me from my mom (Carrie Meyer Neisen). It was from Grandma (Schutte) Meyer. I used to make it a lot when my kids were little. Very tasty!!
