12 oreo cookies, crushed
1-8 ounce package pitted dates, diced
3/4 cup water
1/4 tsp. salt
2 cups miniature marshmallows
1/2 cup chopped California Walnuts
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Directions:
Directions:
Reserve 1/8 cup cookie crumbs. Spread remainder in an 8 by 8 inch lightly greased baking dish.
In saucepan combine dates, water and salt. Bring to boiling. Reduce heat and simmer 3 to 5 minutes until dates are soft and water is absorbed. Remove from heat and add marshmallows and keep stirring until marshmallows are all melted. Stir in chopped nuts. Spread over cookie crumbs. Refrigerate.
In a chilled bowl with chilled beaters, whip chilled cream until soft peaks form, add vanilla extract and continue until peaks are a little more stiff. Spread cream over chilled date mixture. Sprinkle with reserved crumbs. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Cut in squares and serve.
