1/2 lb. butter
1/2 cup Crisco
3 cups sugar
5 eggs
3 cups cake flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
4 T. cocoa
1 cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter & Crisco together. Add sugar gradually &
continue beating until light & fluffy. Add eggs one at a time,
beating well after each one. Sift flour, salt,& baking powder
together. Add cocoa to creamed mixture. Add dry
ingredients alternately with milk. Add vanilla & beat until
smooth. Bake in well greased & floured tube pan at 325
degree F. for 1 hour & 20 minutes. Let cool & remove from
pan & frost with chocolate icing. Chocolate Icing Ingredients:
2 cups sugar 3 T. cocoa
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar 1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup milk 1 stick butter
1 tsp, vanilla

Chocolate Icing : Boil ingredients for 1 1/2 minutes. Remove
from heat. Add vanilla. Cool & frost chocolate pound cake.
